About 90% of our stuff got boxed up and carted off to begin it’s 2+ month voyage to Salem Oregon via China. Unfortunately it looks like the power brick for my laptop got packed up… Gonna be $50 or so to replace it, but if that’s the worst casulty for the whole ordeal, I’d say we made out good.

We have accepted the offers and will be headed out to Texas, with a few days layover at our respective family homes, for our orientation prior to heading overseas. We’ll be arriving in Texas on September 16th and going through a 1 week orientation before flying to Kuwait, and after Kuwait eventually Afghanistan.

Tera is going to be a Telephone Operator, and I will be a Server Administrator. We’ll be sitting safely smack in the middle of an Army base and probably safer than most people driving on the freeway back in the states. Housing could end up sucking, but wel’ll survive & the pay will be worth it. Beyond that, there’s a lot of unknowns at this point in time, but it should be an adventure. Were sad to be leaving Kwaj, but look forward to the posibility of returning some day when the time is right.
